  1. Well ive never heard of ‘cocoa rooms’ myself but i did a little research on the net and apparently its a bar in manchester. I thought it might be something a bit more exciting like a room made of chocolate hehe…that would be kool 🙂

  2. About two hundred years ago, chocolate was used as a mild drug in much the same way as alcohol is used today. Much of the business in the City of London was conducted in coffee houses, which is how Lloyds of London started. In other parts of the country, chocolate rooms and cocoa rooms were available for people to meet. One still has the words ‘Cocoa and Reading Rooms’ still visible, and you can find it at Overton near Wrexham.
