  1. I use 1 teaspoon of cocoa powder and 1 teaspoon of sugar and add a little milk then fill with boiling water. If you want it creamier, add all milk and put it in the microwave and stir until the cocoa has dissolved.

  2. here im philippines we make hot chocolate using real cocoa chocolate (made from the roasted seed of cacao) then we boiled it with water after that is ready to drink we pour condense milk to sweeten it. its really great and good to drink during rainy days. if you don;t have that there in your place you can use a cocoa powder instead.

  3. This is the hot chocolate recipe I grew-up on, and have continued to use it in my own family. Hope this helps 🙂

    2 tablespoons sugar
    2 to 3 teaspoons HERSHEY’S Cocoa
    Dash salt
    1 cup milk
    1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract

Mix sugar, cocoa and salt in large mug. Heat milk in microwave at HIGH (100%) 1-1/2 minutes or until hot, or on a stove top. Gradually add hot milk to cocoa mixture in mug, stirring until well blended. Stir in vanilla. 1 serving.

Rich and Adult: Increase cocoa to 2 tablespoons; follow recipe above.

Lower Fat: Use nonfat milk; follow recipe above.

Sugar Free: Omit sugar. Combine cocoa and salt. Proceed as above, using nonfat milk. Stir in vanilla and sugar substitute with sweetening equivalence of 2 tablespoons sugar.

  4. If you have any chocolate pudding mix around, try using a smidgen of that. Without chocolate syrup, cocoa, pieces, baking chocolate, candy bars–well, you are up the creek without a paddle!
